Introduction to Module 1: What is SFX?

In this module you will learn the basics about the SFX linking software: what it is, what it does, and how it does it.

When you have completed this module you will be able to relate the origins of SFX. You will have an understanding of its most basic functions which will allow you to execute simple access searches using the software. This understanding will serve as the foundation for other tutorials in this series designed to increase your knowledge and make using SFX easier.

Building your skill set with SFX is a way to expand your knowledge of electronic resources. It also familiarizes you with one of the commonly used library linking softwares. Having an understanding of SFX has the potential to increase your employability in an academic library.
